She became a professional speaker in 1996 and travels the country with her husband ‘Toby’ speaking at Schools, Churches, Day Cares, Youth Programs, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Nursing Homes, Prisons, Drug Rehab Centers, Veterans Associations, Universities, Colleges, Fraternities, Sororities, Corporations & Organizations.

On December 25, 1991 Dr. Tawana married her childhood sweetheart ‘Toby!’ That day they vowed to love each other for the rest of their lives! 'Toby' & Tawana have been friends since 1969; she was six and he was twelve years old when they met!
